Rafael Benguria Donoso

In 2005, he received the National Science Award for his status as an integral scientist, with profound and high-impact results in disciplines such as Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry, including quantum mechanics, equations in nonlinear partial derivatives, spectral geometry, and mathematical analysis of Brownian motion.

The award is also an accolade for his teaching work. Since 1990 he has been an academic at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and more than five thousand students have attended his classes.

Miguel Kiwi Tichauer

In 2007 he received the National Award in Exact Sciences for his 40 years dedicated to the development of Physics in the country, his role as a trainer of new doctors in the field, and the great impact of his research in condensed matter physics and the Exchange-bias phenomenon in magnetism.

Miguel Kiwi worked as an academic at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile between 1983 and 2012, shaping generations of physicists.
