PUC_6279 punto 1 A

The student checks the repetition rate of the fiber laser.

This fiber laser generates ultrafast pulses with a repetition rate of 114 kHz, a maximum pulse energy of 10 μJ and a pulse duration of 340 fs. The pulse energy can be varied continuously and the central wavelength is 1030 nm. The high pulse intensity allows ablation and fabrication of optical waveguides.

PUC_6266-punto-2-A-scaled_eng

Student aligns beams in the optical setup for spectral broadening and time-shortening of femtosecond green pulses

The pulse compressor consists of two high-efficiency diffraction gratings, allowing precise phase compensation with low losses. The extremely short and simultaneously high-intensity pulses enable very precise ablation and accurate fabrication of optical elements in the micrometer range.
