My research lies in the fields of theoretical and computational soft condensed matter and complex systems. I am currently interested in the dynamics and emergent collective phenomena of active systems, which are inherently out of equilibrium. Examples include active microtubule bundles, bacterial colonies, cellular tissues, and living matter in reconfigurable environments. I am particularly focused on studying biological systems from the perspective of materials science, both to enhance our physical understanding of biological processes, such as morphogenesis, and to apply such mechanisms to the development of self-assembling soft materials.
