My research focuses on Mathematical-Physics. Currently, I am interested in the rigorous understanding of quantum mechanical phenomena related to models of condensed matter physics. In particular, I investigate the conditions under which a Dirac system can be confined; I am interested in determining the spectral properties in dependence of the external fields, the geometry, and the boundary conditions. I study the time dynamics of the relevant quantum observables and I am interested in developing methods to estimate them. An important matter is to determine properties which are stable under external variations. These robust properties may be relevant in the nanotechnology of materials such as graphene and topological insulators.
