Solid State Physics has always been my source of inspiration. The main research fields of my activity are topological effects (Topological insulators and quantum Hall effect, piezoelectricity, photonic crystals, etc.), transport properties in periodic and aperiodic structures and thermodynamics.

The main branches of mathematics that I use for my investigation are functional analysis and spectral theory, operator algebras, vector bundle theory and K-theory, non-commutative (differential) geometry.
