Heman Bhuyan

Main research area of Professor Heman Bhuyan is experimental plasma physics and its application in different fields. Dr. Bhuyan has been working on different plasma devices including Pulsed Power System, Plasma Focus, Capillary Discharge, Glow Discharge Plasma, Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD), Dual Radio Frequency Plasma etc. Currently, he is working on a hybrid plasma system in which a high-power pulsed laser plum is combined with dual radiofrequency plasma and magnetron plasma to form a system known as plasma-enhanced PLD (PE-PLD). The main objective of this hybrid system is to use it as a tool to deposit high-quality thin films for different applications, such as in energy storage devices, in material sciences, in biology, etc.
