Miguel Orzsag is an Electrical Engineer from Universidad de Chile and holds a Ph.D. in Physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His area of research is Quantum Optics and Quantum Information. In 1980 he joined the Universidad Católica as a professor.

In 2017 he was recognized as Professor Emeritus for his contribution to the development of Quantum Physics, both in Chile and Latin America.
