Medical physics is the application of physics or physical models into medicine. In particular, my research currently focuses on two topics within this area: (a) Dosimetry, which corresponds to the precise determination of the radiation dose, in complex treatment situations in which the classical measurement systems or calculation models used in the clinic usually fail in their prediction, and (b) the application of machine learning tools in combination with medical images and clinical information, to be used for clinical decision support. In particular to help in the diagnosis of certain diseases and find predictors of response to treatments. With the final idea of moving toward personalized medicine.
