Ricardo Ramírez

Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Physics, Universidad Católica, Chile.

Ricardo Ramírez is a Civil Electrical Engineer from the Universidad de Chile and holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California. His area of research is Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics. In 1971 he joined the Universidad Católica as a professor.

In 2015 he was recognized as Professor Emeritus for his contribution to the development of the Faculty, serving as the first Director of the Institute of Physics, and later, as the first Dean of the new Faculty of Physics, serving two terms between 1982 – 1990 and 1993 – 2006.
