My research is focused on the creation, manipulation, and detection of spin currents in magnetic structures composed of multilayers of magnetic and non-magnetic thin films. Some of the phenomena I investigate have been discovered in the last decade such as the inverse spin Hall effect (2005) and the Seebeck effect in ferromagnetic insulators (2008). I am also interested in the study of magnetic interactions and the induction of anisotropies in single films and magnetic multilayers.
