Acoustic enclosure for the AFM

The enclosure was designed in our SurfLab group, manufactured by a national enterprise (Lumik), and replicas are now in use in several laboratories of the IF (Faculty and Investigation). The image shows the doctoral student (Nicolás Moraga) preparing the JPK branded AFM for the analysis of a sample.

JPK branded AFM microscope with Heating-Cooling Module, Bio-Cell, among others.

In addition to the usual AFM measurements of friction and topography in Tapping / intermittent contact mode or Hoover Mode, this instrument allows to analyze the elasticity of thin films, especially of natural and artificial biological membranes.
