ANNOUNCEMENT: FACULTY POSITION IN QUANTUM OPTICS

The Institute of Physics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC), Santiago, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, to start as early as March 2021, to join the Quantum Optics Research Group. UC is a traditional university ranked number one in Latin America according to the QS ranking. More information about the Institute can be found at http://fisica.uc.cl.

The Institute of Physics seeks strong candidates with academic experience abroad who can contribute to the excellence and diversity of the Institute community through compelling research, teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, and administrative duties. 

A Ph.D. degree in Physics (or in a closely related area) is required and postdoctoral experience in the field of Quantum Optics & Photonics, including theoretical or experimental research expertise in either photonics, nano-photonics, non-linear optics, optical metrology, novel laser technologies, or similar topics is desirable. 

The selected candidate should be able to teach a variety of standard undergraduate and graduate physics courses. The ability to teach in English and Spanish is expected after one year.

  • Curriculum vitae, 
  • List of publications in refereed journals, 
  • Statement of past achievements and future research plan, 
  • Statement of teaching interests at undergraduate and graduate levels.
